Kate is a powerhouse in the Australian cyber security industry. Winner Most Outstanding in IT Security at the Women in IT Security Awards 2024, an inaugural Fellow of the Australian Information Security Association (FAISA) and Board Director (GAICD), she brings not only deep expertise but also a passion for making this knowledge accessible to everyone through her company Empowered Cyber.

Kate is a distinguished cyber security executive with 25 years of global experience. She has served in influential roles at tech giants like Google Cloud and Telstra, as Interim CISO at The Lottery Corporation and as Head of Risk for Standard Chartered Singapore. This diverse experience positions her uniquely: she’s not only set the cyber strategy for some of Australia’s largest projects, but has also seen the industry from both the operator and vendor side. This comprehensive perspective fuels her engaging and informative talks, where complex concepts are delivered with clarity and conciseness.

Kate is regularly sought out as a Keynote speaker and has presented internationally at conferences and at Vendor events. Kate is currently writing a book on Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence.
